Incredible photos of the planet from NASA
28 Nov 2022NASA regularly publishes incredible photos of space objects and Earth. Our planet looks fabulous from space! Just look at these photos! They provide an opportunity not only to admire our planet but also to help scientists in their research.
Comet passing earth in a nebula cloud
Just an incredible photo! It looks like a scene from a movie, but it's not. NATO managed to photograph the moment when the comet was passing Earth in a nebula cloud. Wow!
Our Earth!
The photo was taken at an altitude of 264 miles above the Earth! A crew member captured the sun as its rays flashed over Sharks Bay off the coast of Western Australia. The space station from which this photo was taken travels at 4.76 miles per second, allowing the crew on board to see 16 sunsets and sunrises in a day!
This photo shows what Earth looks like from 10,000 miles away. This image was taken on November 9, 1967, by the Apollo 4 spacecraft as it orbited the Earth. Less than two years later, mankind first set foot on the Moon's surface.
Sparkling Water
NASA satellites recorded the water in the Hood Canal in Washington, which turned turquoise. The water became such incredible color because of the species of plankton that arrived there. This type of plankton reflects light, giving the impression that the water is glowing.
This photo also shows plankton that glows in the water. This time, the plankton came to the island of Gotland, located in the Baltic Sea.
Autumn in New York
The image shows Adirondack Park, the largest state park in the contiguous United States, covering 6 million acres, or one-sixth the size of New York State. The forest is shrouded in shades of dark red, orange, and gold tones. Looks amazing!
The magical Arctic
This photo shows chunks of sea ice drifting in the frigid waters of Fox Basin off Baffin Island in the Canadian Arctic. During most of the year, the waters of this area are clogged with sea ice, but by late summer, open water usually returns to dominate this part of the Canadian Arctic. Data collected through satellite imagery has allowed scientists to use these observations to study climate change.
A view of the Moon
When you look at this photo, you once again understand how beautiful our universe is and how many interesting things there are in it that we did not know about and have not seen yet. But we believe that soon we will learn more about the universe. Thank you, NASA.
Jupiter's volcanic moon, Io
Recently, NASA released a picture from one of its missions showing Jupiter's volcanic moon, Io. And they announced even more incredible photos that will be shown to us how volcanoes interact with Jupiter's auroras and magnetosphere.
"Blue marble", taken on December 7, 1972
The other day, NASA celebrated the 50th anniversary of the iconic "Blue Marble" photograph of Earth taken on December 7, 1972 by the Apollo 17 crew. We couldn't ignore this really impressive photo. Is it really amazing?
